The competition will be open until 30 May 2024 and will be open to entries in 45 main categories of products and services covering almost the entire economic spectrum.
Despite the current economic difficulties, the prestige of the Value and Quality Trademark has not diminished. In addition to the Russian-Ukrainian war, which broke out two years ago in February and has continued ever since, the Israeli-Hamas war since 7 October last year has added to the economic difficulties and affected economic life for businesses and consumers alike. Despite this, more and more people believe that now is the right time to certify reliable quality and to use quality marks, as the temporary economic difficulties may give room to traders and profiteers.
In a constantly changing economic environment, it is particularly important to recognise and promote quality products and services. The long-established tendering system seeks to provide opportunities for all businesses that continue to see value in high quality, alongside business resilience and future-proofing. The most effective way of recognising and rewarding excellence is through the Value and Quality Award Tender.
The Value and Quality Award, which can be gained within the framework of the competition, is a distinction recognising and rewarding products, services and economic organisations that have demonstrated a strong commitment to quality in their activities. The winners of the competition are good examples of innovation, as their new ideas create new value. This new value can be a product, a service or even a new business model.
The purpose of the Value and Quality Award Tender is to recognise the high quality of goods and services, to promote the production of high-quality goods and services being competitive in the international market, and to encourage the development of services. The important role of the Tender is to play in helping consumers make quality-conscious choices, and to contribute to the development and marketing of health-conscious, energy-efficient products and services. It promotes the emergence of knowledge-based products and businesses in IP-intensive industries, and serves to develop active quality policies for manufacturers, distributors and service providers.
In 2024, the Value and Quality Award Tender was announced and implemented for the seventh time by DIAMOND Management Office Ltd., ExVa Ltd. Testing – Certification, FANNIZERO Ltd., HAJNAL Meat Processing Factory Ltd., INNOVA North-Plain Regional Development and Innovation Agency Nonprofit Ltd, Legrand Hungary Electricity Systems CJSC. and SZÁM-PONT Computer Science and Training Center Ltd. as Board of Announcers of the Tender.
The main Patron of the Value and Quality Award Tender is Mr. János Latorcai Dr., Deputy Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament. The professional promoter of the competition is the Ministry of Agriculture. The main sponsor of the competition is the State Secretariat for Nation Policy at the Prime Minister’s Office, while the Professional partner of the competition is the National Food Chain Safety Office.
Any natural or legal person, unincorporated association, individual entrepreneur or creative community may apply for the Value and Quality Award Tender until 30 May 2024. The 45 main categories of calls for proposals cover, among others, several sectors of heavy industry; mechanical engineering, chemicals, construction materials, light industry; wood, paper, textiles, leather, printing, handicrafts and cottage industry; and almost all sectors of the food industry. But at least as important are: groups related to medical and pharmaceutical equipment and services, home furnishings and catering as well. The main categories include, of course, various services; webshop, museums, leisure and cultural activities, events, education, catering, transport, storage, etc.
On the basis of the decision of the Jury, the most outstanding entries will gain the use of the Value and Quality Award Trademark by wearing the title of honour of the Value and Quality Award as well. At the same time special prizes will also be awarded by the Board of Announcers to most outstanding applications and applicants.
The award ceremony of the Value and Quality Award Tender will be held with a wide attendance on 12th of September 2024 in the Upper House Room of the Parliament.
